The NSF S-STEM (Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Program is for DACC transferring engineering majors at New Mexico State University (NMSU). Although the program is aimed at recruiting minimum three cohorts of 30 students each, the number of available scholarships varies each semester. Scholarship amounts also vary for each student in the STAR Cohort. The individual semester awards are based on “unmet financial need,” an amount determined with assistance from the DACC and NMSU Financial Aid Offices. In addition to the S-STEM application and supporting documents, a Federal Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA) and a completed financial aid file are required to determine student eligibility. There is no minimum scholarship amount. However, the maximum award is $10,000 per academic year.
