Purpose of NSF STAR Program
The DACC-NMSU STAR project is a 5-year NSF-funded scholarship for engineering-bound transferring students from DACC to NMSU College of Engineering (CoE). This project is funded by NSF’s Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics program, which seeks to increase the number of low-income academically talented students with demonstrated financial need who earn degrees in STEM fields. Over its 5-year duration, the STAR project will fund at least 90 unique scholars transferring from DACC to NMSU to pursue a degree in engineering.
