 E3 Inititiative

The e3 Initiative is an NSF grant-sponsored program that provides tremendous opportunities for students and serves as a research project to better understand self-directed, co-curricular adult learning strategies. Read more about the research component on the bottom of the e3 Initiative Home page: https://engr-outreach.nmsu.edu/e3Initiative.

Opportunity for Students

I request your help with the promotion of the e3 Initiative to our College of Engineering students. The program is designed to enhance student marketability with career-ready skills and experiences. Students opt in for this FREE program by submitting a Student Interest Form on the e3 Initiative Home page. Students may also go to the e3 Initiative website to learn more about the program and what we ask of student participants. Once students express their interest, they receive additional instruction and the opportunity to select a project. Students choose from more than 100 project options within three learning tracks.

  • Industry-Valued Certifications (Engineering Project Management, Organizational Leadership, Matlab Associate, Python Associate, Solidworks Associate, Robotics, Certified Cicerone, Electric Utilities Fundamentals, Data Analytics, Six Sigma Yellow Belt, FE Exam Review Course)
  • Entrepeneurship Training (courses on launching an innovative business or on business fundamentals; programmatic involvement with NMSU’s Arrowhead Center and Studio G)
  • Design Projects (Collapsible Bike Helmet, Remote Detection of Blood Pressure, Handicap Accessible Playground)
