NSF Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S-STEM)

Please complete and save the following documents as files before beginning the S-STEM application form. Please save in PDF format when applicable.  You will be directed to upload each file as needed.

1. A short essay (250-500 words) discussing academic and professional goals and interests
2. Letter of recommendation from a faculty member, speaking to academic performance, motivation, professionalism, and potential in an S-STEM field.
3. Unofficial transcript(s) with most recent grades to date:
   • For NMSU Student(s):
     • Download an unofficial transcript from my.nmsu.
     • See “Transfer Student” if you previously attended other institution(s)
   • For Transfer Student/NMSU student who previously attended other institution(s):
     • Request an email copy of prior institution(s) transcripts (not transferable credits listed on the NMSU transcript) from the Registrar Office of the prior institution(s).
     • Download an unofficial NMSU transcript from ‘my.nmsu.edu’.
4. Read the eligibility criteria for the S-STEM cohort in this link: https://star.nmsu.edu/program-2/eligibility/
5. Complete the S-STEM Application Form using the link below.
